Your child should have a dental visit by his/her first birthday. At this visit the dentist will check his/her teeth, show you the best way to clean your child's teeth, and talk to you about a healthy diet and fluoride to keep his/her mouth healthy.

Over 19% of children ages 2-19 have untreated cavities; a child's complete preventive dental program should include fluoride, twice-daily brushing, wise food choices, and regular dental care. (CDC, Data & Statistics, 2/9/11)
